Join Us In 52 Weeks Of Prayer

Each week during our prayer time we will highlight a specific group in our community (local law enforcement, schools, hospitals, military, government leaders, foster care/DCS, farmers, missionaries, etc.) as is an intentional way for our congregation to remain prayerful, outwardly focused, and unified as we intercede for our community and beyond.

This week's prayer focus is on: Fortville Elementary School in Fortville (part of the Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation).

As the school serves our youngest learners in grades K–4, it’s a crucial time of growth, foundation-building, and character formation.

Key Info
  • Grades: K–4
  • Enrollment: ~ 671 students (2025-26 estimate)
  • Principal: Dr. Vince Edwards
Prayer Points
  • Foundation & Growth: Pray for each K–4 student to develop strong academic habits, positive character qualities, and a sense of belonging at Fortville Elementary.
  • Principal & Leadership: Pray for Dr. Vince Edwards as he leads the school through this season — for vision, wisdom, encouragement, and clarity in decisions.
  • Teachers & Staff: Pray for the teachers, aides, and support staff (who serve the ~671 students) — for energy, patience, creativity, and a love for each child they teach and care for.
  • Elementary Stage Needs: Pray for children at this young age who may struggle with early academic skills, social interaction, or emotional challenges — that they would have support, encouragement, and hope.
  • Spiritual Impact: Pray that Fortville Elementary would not only teach skills but also instill values — kindness, integrity, compassion — and that students might sense God’s love and presence even in their early school years.
  • Safety & Community: Pray for physical safety in the school building and grounds, emotional safety for students feeling vulnerable, and a school culture marked by respect, kindness, and support among students and staff.
  • Unity with Families: Pray for strong partnerships between the school and families — that parents, teachers, and staff would work together, share a vision, and support each child’s growth.
“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” — Proverbs 22:6

May God bless Fortville Elementary School this year — may each child know they are seen and loved, may teachers and leaders be empowered and encouraged, and may the school community reflect the grace, truth, and love of Jesus in all they do.
